GENERAL TERMS
These terms and conditions apply to the IBM Career-Ready workshop prize draw (the “Promotion”) taking place between 4 and 22 November.
The promoters are IBM SkillsBuild, 20 York Rd, London SE1 7ND and Hark, Kings Croft, Jaspers Green, Shalford, Essex, CM7 5AT (the “Promoter”).
The delivery partner/s is/are Hark, Kings Croft, Jaspers Green, Shalford, Essex, CM7 5AT (the “Delivery Partner”).
The data controller for the Promotion is IBM SkillsBuild, 20 York Rd, London SE1 (the “Data Controller”).
RULES FOR ENTRY
- The promotion is open to secondary school teachers who have registered themselves and their school with IBM SkillsBuild during the competition period.
- Entry to the promotion is free.
- To enter the promotion, an eligible person must:
- Register to IBM SkillsBuild
- Complete ‘request form for organisations’
- Each participant may only register themselves and their school once. However, additional participants from the same school, registered within the competition timeframe, are still eligible to enter.
- The Promotion opens on 4 November 2024, 5AM and closes on 23 November 2024 12AM. No entries will be accepted after this date and time.
- By entering the Promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Promotion rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller for the purposes of the administration of this Promotion. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
- No responsibility is accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any postal problems or network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind, or where postage is not paid in full. Proof of entry will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
PRIZE ALLOCATION
- Winning entries will be selected via an automated draw selection process and will be notified by the 27 November 2024.
- Winners will be notified via email and/or phone call of their winning entry.
- All five workshops will take place on the same day. Winners are responsible for securing their time slot for the assigned workshop date
- If a winner does not confirm their time slot after three reminders, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to another participant.
- The prize is a 45-50 minute virtual workshop, delivered by Hark and an IBM expert.
- The workshop delivery date will be confirmed after the competition ends.
- The prize is/the prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable. However, in the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize(s) of equal value. Prizes cannot be sold or auctioned or otherwise transferred to a third party.
GENERAL RULES OF BEHAVIOUR
- Entrants may not use the Promotion for the expression of political or religious ideas.
- The Promoter has the right to refuse any entry which contains material which is offensive, insulting, injurious, obscene, offending, vindictive, indecent, perverted, immoral, aggressive, sexually oriented, racist, derisive, slanderous, discriminatory, or in any other way not in line with good taste and decency, or which Promoter deems in its sole discretion to be otherwise unacceptable.
- Entries may not conflict with applicable law or regulations, the rights of third parties, nor may they incite, advocate or express pornography, obscenity, vulgarity, hatred, bigotry, racism or gratuitous violence.
- Entries may not in any way harm Promoter, its affiliates, and/or the commercial partners of the Promoter.
- Entrants may not upload, post, email or otherwise make available any material that contains software viruses or any other computer codes, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the use of any software or devices on the website.
- Entrants cannot derive any rights from their participation and have no right to any payment or other compensation for their entry or their participation.
- The Promoter retains the right to exclude participants from participating in the Promotion and to exclude entries if these are not in line with these rules of behaviour or are otherwise in conflict with the Terms.
APPLICABLE LAW / DISPUTES
- The decision of the Promoter is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into relating to the result of the Promotion.
- If any clause of these Terms is found by a competent court or other competent authority to be void or unenforceable, that clause shall be deemed to be deleted and the remaining clauses shall continue in full force and effect.
- These Terms are governed by and construed in all respects in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any and all disputes arising out of or in connection with the Terms shall in the first instance be submitted to and settled by the competent courts of England and Wales, provided that this shall not preclude or prejudice the right of the participant to take any legal proceedings in another court of competent jurisdiction in accordance with applicable mandatory law.
- The Promoter reserves the right at all times to amend the Terms without any liability to the participants or any third party. A revised version of the Terms will be published on the website.
